The hike begins with sunset from the summit of Roque de Los Muchachos. The route follows a section of the GR-131, the “Walking Stick”, towards Pico de La Cruz. We will see the changes of light around us as night falls and the first stars begin to shine and guide us on our way. During the hike, there will be commentaries about fauna associated with the night, and at the end a short astrophotography session and explanation of the sky from the Pico de La Cruz Sur Astronomical Viewpoint.
Note: For the astrophotography session a camera capable of taking long exposures (or a remote release switch), and a small tripod are needed. If you do not have a camera of this type the instructors will take the pictures and send them to participants by email.
