The route reviews some reasons and relevant personalities in the history of women in Santa Cruz de La Palma on a tour through the main streets of the historic-artistic. Silenced by an unjust androcentrism historiography and cultural, are the lives of many anonymous women and other more known by its public recursion in the evolution of the La Palma capital over five centuries.

Among them, intellectuals such as Leocricia Pestana  Fierro, known as the White Lady, who, according to legend, still wandering at night, lost in the gardens of the Quinta Verde, her last residence, where she died on April 4, 1926. Poet and freethinker, your name fits in the history of La Palma literature from the nineteenth century and early twentieth centuries as one of the few Spanish women followers of Freemasonry. In this sense, his speech at the founding banquet of the local lodge Abora in 1874 is a real milestone.

Juana Fernández Ferraz, sister of well known educators Valeriano, Juan and Victor, has also passed to the history of literature, in his case, of Costa Rica, as one of the first women novelists of that country, author of El Espiritu del Rio work, published in San José, Costa Rica in 1912.
