The path ascends through a low, open pine forest, passing close to ropey lavas, volcanic tubes and archaeological remains, until it reaches one of the best natural vantage points in the National Park where, weather permitting, panoramic views can be enjoyed. On the way back from the summit, the route makes a diversion at “El Rodeo” to descend to La Cumbrecita.
